An evangelist and Shepherd-in-Charge of a Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) parish in Ogun State, Abidemi Odukoya, has allegedly killed his wife, Adenike, following a domestic altercation.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday, August 31, 2026, at their residence in Akiode Ibogun, Ogun State.
According to accounts surrounding the incident, the couple had reportedly been experiencing marital disagreements and domestic disputes since December 2025, with family members and friends said to have intervened in attempts to resolve the issues.
However, at about 1am on Monday, the couple allegedly engaged in a violent physical altercation, during which Abidemi reportedly hit his wife’s head against a wall before fleeing the scene.
Their son, who was reportedly in his room at the time, ran outside to seek help from neighbours.
Neighbours who arrived at the residence were said to have found Adenike seriously injured, with her head swollen and bleeding heavily. She was reportedly gasping for breath.
Efforts by neighbours to secure a vehicle to take her to a hospital were unsuccessful, and she eventually died from her injuries.
In a separate development, eyewitnesses reportedly saw Abidemi around 6am at Iyana Coker, along the Ifo axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
He allegedly threw himself in front of a moving Dangote truck and died at the scene.
The deaths of the couple reportedly left their family members, friends and church members shocked.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths and the alleged domestic violence incident.
