ABUJA — The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Directorate has set a target of 40 million votes for President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The mobilisation plan is expected to receive further attention on Monday as the APC holds its Women Stakeholders’ Summit in Abuja.
According to the party’s women mobilisation directorate, the summit is part of efforts to strengthen the participation of women in the APC’s political activities and expand its grassroots support ahead of the 2027 election.
The event is expected to bring together thousands of women stakeholders from across the country, with First Lady Oluremi Tinubu expected to play a prominent role in the mobilisation exercise.
The APC has continued to emphasise women’s participation as part of its strategy ahead of the next general election.
The 40-million-vote figure represents the mobilisation target announced by the party’s women wing and is not an election result.
The summit comes as political parties begin intensifying their preparations for the 2027 elections, with grassroots mobilisation, voter registration and party structures expected to play key roles.
The APC’s women mobilisation activities are expected to continue across states as the party works to consolidate its support base ahead of the presidential election.
