The NASFAT Games (NASGA 4.0), holding at Fountain University, Osogbo, delivered another round of thrilling volleyball action yesterday, with Oyo Zones 1 and 2 dominating both the male and female categories.

In the men’s fixtures, Oyo Zone 2 opened the day with a commanding 2–0 straight-set victory over NASFAT Headquarters, relying on sharp serves and disciplined teamwork to overwhelm their opponents.

The host team, Fountain University (FUO), put up a spirited fight against North-West Zone but eventually fell 1–2. Despite forcing the game into a deciding third set, FUO could not withstand the North-West’s late momentum.

Oyo Zone 1 added to the state’s strong performance with a comfortable 2–0 win over South-South/South-East, combining clinical finishing with resolute defence.

In the women’s category, Oyo Zone 1 asserted their dominance with a straightforward 2–0 victory against North-West Zone. Meanwhile, the encounter between Fountain University and Lagos Zone 3 ended inconclusively after both teams tied at 1–1 before technical issues forced play to be suspended. Organisers confirmed the match will be rescheduled.

The results underscored the strength of Oyo’s teams, who remain unbeaten and continue to set the pace in the competition. With their consistency, speculation is already mounting about the possibility of an all-Oyo showdown in the knockout rounds.
