Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has expressed confidence that the state will support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, following a series of political engagements by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

Radda made the statement on Monday while receiving a delegation led by former Zamfara State governor and campaign council Director-General, Abdulaziz Yari, who visited the state to seek support for Tinubu.

The delegation reportedly visited traditional institutions in Katsina and Daura as part of efforts to engage influential community leaders ahead of the next presidential election.

Explaining the purpose of the visits, Radda said the delegation had been meeting traditional rulers to discuss the President’s plans and seek their support.

“He was here to canvas for votes. He has gone around to visit the traditional institutions to explain to them the mission and vision of Mr President and his intention for this country,” the governor said.

Radda expressed optimism that the engagements would strengthen support for Tinubu in the state.

“We assured them of our efforts to ensure the victory of Mr President come 2027 election, Insha Allah,” he added.

The governor also said the delegation had received an encouraging response during its engagements, claiming that traditional rulers had expressed support for the President.

Radda linked Tinubu’s political relationships with Katsina to his longstanding ties with prominent leaders from the state, including former President Muhammadu Buhari and the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

The APC has continued to organise political engagements and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, as parties prepare to present their candidates and programmes to voters.

While Radda expressed confidence in the President’s prospects in Katsina, the eventual outcome will be determined by voters at the polls.
