The Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the redeployment of Mr. Adetola, Muyiwa John, as the new Accountant-General of the state and Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office (STO).
The redeployment follows the statutory retirement of the outgoing Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Dr. Abiodun Muritala, bringing to a close his tenure in the State Treasury Office.
According to an official circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Adetola was moved from the Office of the State Auditor-General, where he previously served as State Auditor-General. The circular stated that the redeployment takes immediate effect from Monday, March 2, 2026.
The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, congratulated the new Accountant-General and urged all stakeholders to give the circular the necessary publicity and cooperation to ensure a seamless transition in the State Treasury Office.
The development, observers note, reflects the Lagos State Government’s commitment to sustaining efficiency, accountability and continuity in public financial management.
