The Diaspora Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a five-point mobilisation plan aimed at securing support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election.
The initiative is expected to engage Nigerians living abroad through diaspora networks, political outreach and social media campaigns in support of the President’s second-term ambition.
The directorate is led by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who has been associated with efforts to strengthen engagement between the Federal Government and Nigerians in the diaspora.
The mobilisation strategy seeks to make use of the political, professional and social networks of Nigerians abroad to communicate the party’s message ahead of the next general election.
One of the campaign tools highlighted is the hashtag #Diaspora4Tinubu2027, which is intended to support online mobilisation and increase the visibility of the President’s re-election campaign.
The initiative reflects the APC’s broader effort to organise support ahead of the 2027 polls, with political parties and campaign groups increasingly using digital platforms to reach voters and supporters across different locations.
Nigerians in the diaspora remain an important audience for political engagement because of their links to communities at home, their participation in public debates and their potential influence on political conversations.
However, the effectiveness of the directorate’s plan will depend on how its proposed activities are implemented and the extent to which the campaign can translate online engagement into wider political support.
The APC is expected to continue communicating its policies and priorities as the 2027 election approaches.
The unfolding campaign will take place amid broader political activity involving parties, candidates and groups seeking to influence the direction of the next general election.
