The immediate past Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rasak Ajala, has urged all residents within the LCDA to embrace active political participation, describing APC membership as a vital pathway to opportunities and development within the community.
Ajala made the call on Monday, January 26, 2026, while addressing stakeholders at a well-attended engagement meeting held at the Olomowewe Town Square.
According to Ajala, the meeting was convened to fine-tune strategies aimed at redefining the future of children and ensuring sustainable progress for the area. He noted that deliberate planning and collective responsibility are essential to building a brighter future for the younger generation.
“The essence of this meeting is to redefine the future of our children and give them a brighter future,” Ajala said.
He emphasized that registration and active membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remain crucial for residents seeking to benefit from empowerment programmes, social interventions, and development initiatives being implemented by elected representatives.
“APC membership is key to accessing greater opportunities. With this membership identity, you can easily benefit from numerous programmes being launched by all our representatives,” he stated.
Ajala further called on residents to demonstrate their commitment to continuity in governance, stressing that political loyalty and participation at the grassroots level play a major role in sustaining development.
“If truly we love our political leaders, this is the time to showcase that love. If you want continuity, this is the time to act towards the actualisation of that continuity. Your membership card carries a lot of weight—it grants you access to all the opportunities in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adeyemi (Yemi) Alli, who represents Mushin Federal Constituency I, encouraged residents to take the APC membership registration exercise seriously, describing it as a gateway to inclusion, empowerment, and participation in governance.
“APC membership registration is not just a political exercise; it is a gateway to opportunity. When you are registered, you are properly positioned to benefit from empowerment programmes, social interventions, and development initiatives meant for our people,” Alli said.
He added that being registered strengthens the relationship between leaders and constituents and ensures that residents are recognized and carried along in governance.
The stakeholders’ engagement was hosted by the Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande, and was attended by prominent political leaders, including Hon. Lekan Fatodu and Hon. Nureni Akinsanya, among others.
