Thousands of supporters of President Bola Tinubu on Friday staged a solidarity march through Kaduna State ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off scheduled for Saturday, October 24.
The procession was organised by the Presidential Campaign Council’s Support Groups Mobilisation Directorate as the ruling party intensified its preparations for the 2027 general election.
Led by the director of the directorate, Silas Ali Agara, the march began around the Savannah Bank area before proceeding to the Kaduna State Government House, where Governor Uba Sani received the delegation.
The participants later returned to the APC Ciki da Waje State Secretariat.
Several streets in the state capital were decorated with APC flags and campaign materials, while supporters expressed their backing for the President through drumming, dancing and other activities.
Speaking during the exercise, Agara said the mobilisation was intended to demonstrate the commitment of the support groups to Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
“We want to show Mr President that Nigerians love him, the people of Kaduna State love him, and the youth of this country love him,” he said.
Agara said the solidarity walk marked the beginning of a wider mobilisation effort that would be extended to other states where the President was expected to hold campaign engagements.
He also urged members of the support groups to focus on grassroots engagement and communicate the administration’s policies and programmes to citizens, rather than limiting their activities to rallies and processions.
The APC campaign official claimed that the directorate had about 10,000 support groups nationwide.
Governor Uba Sani commended the organisers for their mobilisation efforts and urged supporters to sustain their engagement with residents.
He said the Tinubu administration had introduced reforms aimed at addressing Nigeria’s challenges and laying the foundation for long-term development.
“Kaduna State will support President Tinubu and vote massively for him in recognition of his achievements,” Sani said.
The governor also called on supporters to remain peaceful and united as political activities ahead of the 2027 election gather momentum.
The Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, also urged Nigerians to support the President, pointing to what he described as achievements in infrastructure, water supply, education and healthcare.
The campaign flag-off was expected to attract APC governors, party leaders, campaign officials and supporters from across the country.
The ruling party is seeking to consolidate its support base ahead of the next presidential election, with mobilisation efforts expected to continue across states and local government areas.
