A Nigerian man, Aare Feyisayo, has alleged that officers of the Lagos State Police Command forced him to transfer ₦200,000 at gunpoint during an early morning encounter in Lagos.
Recounting his experience via his Facebook profile, Feyisayo said: “This is the picture of the police criminal gang leader who intercepted me at Ajao Junction on Wednesday morning, April 22, 2026, at exactly 5:55 a.m. while I was going to work.”
He explained that the incident occurred as he attempted to pick up a colleague. “I saw a colleague, Comrade Chinedu. As I cleared to pick him up, they double-crossed me with a korope bus without a registration number,” he said.
Describing the encounter, he added: “They forced my colleague out of my vehicle, forcefully collected my key from me, and pushed me to the back seat. Three of them jumped inside my vehicle, all dressed in police uniform, well-armed, and one wearing a mask.”
According to him, the suspects then drove off with him inside the car. “They drove off, turned under NAHCO bridge, and headed towards Mile 2,” he stated.
Feyisayo said the ordeal escalated at Cele Express, where he was allegedly forced to part with money. “On getting to Cele Express, they cleared before the bridge and forced me to transfer the sum of ₦200,000 into a First Bank account at gunpoint at exactly 6:29 a.m.”
He continued: “Immediately they confirmed the alert, they all jumped down from my vehicle, entered their korope, and zoomed off towards Mile 2.”
The victim said he reported the matter to the police and provided evidence. “I reported the incident at the police station, showing them the picture of the gang’s team lead, but the Nigeria Police Force has not been forthcoming in their investigation,” he alleged.
As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has yet to respond to the allegations.
