A Nigerian woman, Chimereucheya Abigail Enyinnaya, has accused her brother-in-law, Maduabuchi, popularly known as Abuchi, of brutally killing her sister in Rivers State, describing the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy that has left the family devastated.
In an emotional account shared on social media, Enyinnaya alleged that her sister, who got married to the suspect in December 2020, was murdered on Wednesday, February 19, 2026. She said the family received a call from the suspect’s relatives informing them that the matter had been reported at the police station in Eberi, where it was alleged that Abuchi killed his wife and also shot his brother the same day.
According to her narration, the suspect reportedly left his workshop at noon, telling colleagues he was going to see his wife and children. He allegedly proceeded to the farm where his wife had gone to harvest cassava, assaulted her and cut off her head with a kitchen knife. The same day, she claimed, he returned and announced that he had killed his wife and shot his brother when he tried to intervene before fleeing the scene.
Enyinnaya further disclosed that the suspect was later apprehended by the police on Friday, February 20, after coming out of hiding. She said the case is currently being handled by the police and the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and that the suspect remains in custody.
“My sister was brutally murdered by her husband. This is not fiction, this is my story,” she lamented. “She died without being able to speak about the tragic moments she faced. He killed her without thinking about their two children. I hope the world hears my voice. I hope he will be charged and justice will prevail,” she added.
