Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have dismantled a major logistics network operated by ISWAP terrorists along the Lake Chad waterways in Northern Borno State.

According to a military statement, the operation was carried out during the night of April 21 to 22, 2026, around the Kaniram Island axis, following credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports.

The military said its air assets maintained sustained aerial surveillance, confirming the presence of more than 30 terrorist boats involved in movement and resupply operations before launching precision strikes.

The statement noted that after careful target validation and adherence to Rules of Engagement, the airstrikes destroyed several boats and disrupted the group’s logistics hub, significantly weakening its operational capacity.

It added that follow-up strikes targeted fleeing insurgents, leading to the neutralisation of over 30 terrorists, while others escaped in disarray.

Quote:

“Acting on credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance inputs, OPHK air assets established persistent overhead presence and confirmed the concentration of over 30 terrorist boats coordinating movement and resupply activities.

“Following deliberate confirmation in line with Rules of Engagement, well-coordinated precision strikes destroyed several boats and disrupted the terrorists’ logistics hub, degrading their mobility and ability to sustain operations.

“Real-time ISR enabled rapid follow-on strikes on fleeing elements, leading to the neutralisation of over 30 terrorists, while surviving elements escaped in disarray, reflecting a breakdown in their cohesion and command structure.”
