Nollywood actress and filmmaker Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother, who passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, following a prolonged illness.
The actress disclosed the sad news on Monday in an emotional tribute shared on her Instagram page, accompanied by photographs of her late mother.
Ade, while mourning the loss, expressed her submission to the will of Almighty Allah and prayed for the peaceful repose of her mother’s soul.
She wrote: “Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him shall we return.”
The actress prayed that Allah forgive her mother’s shortcomings, have mercy on her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. She also prayed for strength and patience for the family as they navigate the painful loss.
Ade said her mother is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory.
She further disclosed that details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” she added.
The announcement has since attracted an outpouring of condolences from colleagues, friends, fans and other members of the entertainment industry.
