The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State chapter, Ibrahim Adigun, has held a strategic meeting with the new leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC), Lagos Axis, to strengthen collaboration on youth development.
Adigun disclosed that the engagement with the student body, led by Quadri Odewunmi, popularly known as I-SHOW, focused on aligning priorities around student leadership, youth inclusion, and enhancing the role of young people in governance across Lagos State.
According to him, discussions at the meeting emphasised the need for a more structured and unified approach to youth engagement, particularly in areas such as leadership development, civic participation, student welfare, and strategic partnerships.
“We had a productive strategic engagement with the new leadership of NANS JCC Lagos Axis. The meeting provided an important platform to align on shared priorities around student leadership, youth inclusion, and collaborative efforts towards strengthening the voice and impact of young people across Lagos State,” Adigun said.
He added that both organisations explored pathways for deeper collaboration between student bodies and broader youth institutions to ensure that young people are actively involved in shaping policies and driving development.
“Together, we will continue to work towards building a more coordinated, empowered, and forward-looking youth ecosystem in Lagos State,” he stated, while commending the NANS leadership for their commitment to partnership.
