Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday commemorated the 74th birthday of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a statewide food distribution exercise, reaching residents across multiple communities in Lagos.
The governor disclosed that the outreach, which included the sharing of food packs at key locations such as the Chapel of Christ the Light and the Lagos State Central Mosque, was aimed at celebrating the President while offering support to families navigating current economic realities.
Describing the initiative as modest but impactful, Sanwo-Olu said it was a gesture of solidarity with Lagosians during a period many Nigerians continue to find challenging.
“Today, we marked the 74th birthday of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, by sharing food packs with residents across Lagos. We reached people in communities across the state including at Chapel of Christ the Light and Lagos State Central Mosque. It was a simple way to celebrate while also supporting families at this time,” the governor stated.
Beyond the outreach, Sanwo-Olu revealed that he also addressed residents with a personal message reflecting on the President’s leadership and Nigeria’s ongoing journey.
“I also shared a personal message with Lagosians, reflecting on the President’s leadership and the journey we are on as a nation. I know the past months have not been easy but I believe we are beginning to see progress,” he added.
The governor further reiterated Lagos State’s commitment to sustaining the legacy and developmental foundation laid by President Tinubu, noting that it continues to shape governance and progress in the state.
“In Lagos, we continue to build on the strong foundation he laid and it remains an important part of our story today,” Sanwo-Olu affirmed.
The celebration forms part of broader recognitions across the country in honour of President Tinubu’s 74th birthday, with allies and supporters highlighting his leadership and reform-driven agenda.
