The Ilorin East Legislative Council has congratulated Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari following what it described as a strong endorsement and vote of confidence by the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
In a statement issued under the leadership of the Speaker of the Council, Rt. Hon. Adam Mustapha Aduagba, the council described Yahaya Seriki as the preferred candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the “incoming Governor of Kwara State.”
The council said the endorsement reflected Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari’s contributions to youth empowerment, grassroots development and humanitarian service across the state.
According to the statement, the APC chieftain has over the years demonstrated loyalty, leadership and commitment to the progress of Kwara State through various empowerment and community development initiatives.
The lawmakers also praised his political influence, humility and passion for service, noting that his leadership qualities had endeared him to many residents across the 16 local government areas of the state.
“The people see him as a leader with vision, capacity, and genuine love for the growth and unity of Kwara,” the statement read.
The council added that residents of Ilorin East Local Government and other parts of the state were proud to associate with a leader whose commitment to the APC and the development of Kwara remained steadfast.
It further described the endorsement as a major step toward ensuring continuity in governance, inclusiveness, empowerment and sustainable development in the state.
The council also commended Governor AbdulRazaq for what it termed his foresight and commitment to supporting capable leaders who can sustain the achievements of his administration.
Speaking further, the council prayed for divine wisdom, strength and victory for Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari in his political journey.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari divine protection, wisdom, strength, good health, and victory in all his political aspirations,” the statement added.
The lawmakers concluded by congratulating Yahaya Seriki, describing him as “the people’s choice” and “a leader of the masses.”
