The Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Dr. Idiat Adebule, has reaffirmed her commitment to advancing inclusive governance and social protection policies that directly impact Nigeria’s most vulnerable citizens.
Speaking at the Stakeholders’ Engagement on Advancing Social Protection Through the National Social Register, held on September 8, 2025, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Senator Adebule described the forum as a collective effort to strengthen data-driven, people-centered platforms that would help government interventions reach the poor and marginalized populations.

“As a legislator and representative of the people, I understand too well that our policies must reflect the realities of those who are at the lowest rung of society, and our interventions must close the gap between robust economic growth and human development,” she said.
The Senator stressed that effective social protection requires transparency, accountability, and inclusion, noting that engagements of this nature would foster deeper collaboration and generate actionable insights to improve delivery mechanisms.

She further expressed hope that the outcomes of the engagement would reaffirm government’s commitment to building a more inclusive and resilient society.
