The Renewed Hope Initiative has extended its humanitarian and empowerment drive to Borno State with the launch of the “Flow with Confidence” sanitary pad distribution and a food outreach programme targeted at vulnerable groups.
The initiative, which blends immediate relief with long-term empowerment, provided essential items to households and distributed sanitary pads to schoolgirls, while also improving sanitation facilities to promote hygiene and consistent school attendance.
Speaking at the launch in Maiduguri, the Vice President’s wife and Vice Chairperson of the Initiative, Nana Kashim Shettima, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling both the immediate needs and structural challenges faced by women and children.
Shettima emphasised that the sanitary support scheme was designed to improve menstrual hygiene, reduce absenteeism, and boost the confidence of girls in their educational journey. She also commended the Borno State Government for its cooperation in supporting such gender-focused interventions.
Beneficiaries of the programme expressed deep appreciation, describing the aid as timely in the face of current economic hardships.
The Renewed Hope Initiative has continued to roll out targeted projects across the country aimed at poverty alleviation, youth and women empowerment, and creating sustainable opportunities for vulnerable groups.
