The Kano Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa over alleged mutilation of the Nigerian currency.
Inuwa was apprehended on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the circulation of a viral video on social media in which she was seen using Naira notes to clean mucus from her nose, an act said to contravene provisions of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act.
EFCC sources disclosed that the Commission swung into action after the video gained widespread attention online, traced the actress, and subsequently arrested her to answer questions regarding the incident.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Commission’s detention facility in Kano, where investigations are ongoing. The EFCC stated that Inuwa will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
