Head coach of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, Hakeem Busari, has said he is determined to make a lasting impression at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup as the Flamingos prepare for their next challenge at the tournament.
Busari said the competition presents an opportunity for both the team and its technical crew to demonstrate their abilities against some of the best young players in the world.
“For me, I want to make a name; I want to make a mark for Nigeria and equally for myself,” the coach said.
He explained that his focus remained on preparing the players and improving the team’s performance as the competition progresses.
Busari also acknowledged that although the squad had shown encouraging qualities, further work was needed to strengthen its overall performance.
“At this point, we can see our strong points, but we still want to do more,” he added.
The Flamingos have continued their campaign at the tournament with the objective of advancing as far as possible and building on Nigeria’s history in women’s youth football.
Nigeria’s U-17 side has previously made strong runs at the competition, and the team will be seeking another memorable campaign under Busari’s leadership.
The coach’s comments underline the importance of preparation, discipline and continued improvement as the players face international opposition.
The tournament also provides an opportunity for the young Nigerian players to gain valuable experience and attract attention through their performances on the global stage.
For the coaching crew, the task is to ensure that the team’s strengths translate into results while addressing weaknesses identified during matches and training.
The Flamingos’ progress will depend on their ability to maintain tactical discipline, create scoring opportunities and respond effectively to the demands of knockout football.
With the competition attracting attention from across the world, Nigeria will be hoping that the team’s preparation and collective effort translate into a successful outing.
Busari’s stated ambition is clear: to make a mark for Nigeria while continuing to develop the players entrusted to his technical crew.
