Youth from Kogi State have donated ₦100 million in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in his leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The donation was formally presented during a visit to the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja. The delegation was led by the Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
They were received by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, at a brief ceremony held at the party’s secretariat.
Speaking at the event, Governor Ododo described the donation as a strong demonstration of grassroots support for President Tinubu, particularly among young Nigerians.
“This contribution by our youths clearly demonstrates their belief in President Tinubu’s leadership and their readiness to support him for another term,” Ododo said. “It sends a strong message that the people of Kogi State stand firmly with him.”
He noted that the gesture reflects the confidence of Kogi youths in the President’s vision and reform agenda.
In his remarks, Yilwatda commended the youths for what he described as a patriotic and voluntary act, stating that the donation underscores the growing political awareness and engagement of young Nigerians.
“This gesture is reassuring for the future of our great party. With this level of commitment, there will be no need for further donations toward the President’s nomination form,” he said.
The ₦100 million donation is specifically earmarked for the purchase of the APC presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 elections.
Representatives of the Kogi youths explained that the funds were mobilised through community-based contributions and fundraising efforts, driven by enthusiasm for the President’s reforms in infrastructure development, security and economic growth.
The APC leadership expressed appreciation for the gesture and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusive governance and youth participation in national development.
