The Nigeria Police Force has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, the outgoing spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
Hundeyin takes over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command as Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations, following his recent promotion.
Police authorities, in confirming the development, described the changes as routine administrative adjustments designed to ensure career progression and manpower optimization, stressing that the postings are neither punitive nor controversial.
CSP Hundeyin, a seasoned communicator, brings to the role extensive experience in law enforcement and strategic communications. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
He has also undergone specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army Leadership Institute, Jaji, and is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).
Hundeyin’s career has included an international peacekeeping assignment with the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), where he refined his expertise in crisis communication and public affairs.
Since March 2022, he has served as the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, where his proactive engagement with the media and the public earned him widespread recognition.
