Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed gratitude to Lagos residents for their support over the past seven years, saying their patience, belief, and cooperation have been instrumental to the achievements recorded by his administration.
In a statement marking the seventh anniversary of his administration, the governor reflected on his journey since assuming office and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more developmental projects before the end of his tenure.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Lagos has continued to make progress despite challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and economic difficulties that affected the state and the nation.
“Seven years ago, when I first took the oath of office as your Governor, I made a solemn promise to listen, to work tirelessly and to build a Lagos that works for everyone,” he said.
The governor noted that his administration had remained focused on improving the lives of residents through investments in transportation, healthcare, education, housing, urban renewal, and youth empowerment.
He stated that the government had recently used a series of ministerial press briefings to present its scorecard and account for its stewardship to Lagosians.
“Today, I salute every Lagosian for standing firmly with us over the last seven years. Your support, patience, and belief in this administration have made the progress we have recorded possible,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The governor also acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda had continued to drive growth and development across key sectors in Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu further commended civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, political leaders, and residents for their contributions to the state’s development.
“We are not slowing down. There is still more work to do, and by the grace of God, we will finish strong. I will round off the anniversary activities with a media briefing detailing all the promises we have kept,” he added.
Reaffirming his optimism about the future of the state, the governor said Lagos was on a steady path of growth because residents continued to embrace the vision of a Greater Lagos.
