Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reminded residents of the resumption of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, calling for active participation across the state.
In a message to Lagosians, the governor emphasised that the vision of a greater Lagos extends beyond infrastructure such as bridges and rail systems, stressing the importance of environmental responsibility.
The exercise is scheduled to hold tomorrow between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., with residents, landlords and business owners expected to clean their surroundings.
Sanwo-Olu warned against the dangers of blocked drains and poor waste disposal, noting that they contribute to flooding and pose serious health risks. He urged residents to clear gutters in front of their properties and properly bag their waste for collection by the Lagos Waste Management Authority.
He added that maintaining a clean environment should not require enforcement, but should reflect a shared sense of responsibility and pride among residents, describing the initiative as a collective effort to improve public health and living conditions.
