The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has commenced an investigation into Fuji music icon, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1.
This follows a petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) alleging unruly behaviour of Kwam 1 that disrupted the safe operation of an aircraft.
According to the NCAA, the incident occurred on August 5, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and reportedly violated provisions of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023.
In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Airport Command to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter to “uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure justice is served.”
The Police further assured the public of its “commitment to maintaining safety and security in Nigeria’s aviation sector” and pledged closer collaboration with aviation stakeholders to enforce compliance with aviation laws.
