In a remarkable show of solidarity, governorship aspirant, Oloye Saheed Oladele, on Sunday hosted all 33 chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across Oyo State in Ibadan.
The meeting, which defied expectations of partial attendance, drew leaders from distant local governments such as Saki, Sepeteri, Kishi, Igbeti, and Igboho.
Speaking after the session, Oladele expressed delight at the full turnout. “We were told to expect about 28 out of the 33 chairmen because they rarely attend meetings in complete number. Surprisingly, all the 33 came, and we had very hot discussions bothering on APC unity and cohesion in Oyo State,” he said.
The Ibadan meeting, held in a tastefully decorated hall, sparked initial speculations that it might have been convened abroad. Oladele clarified that it was firmly an Oyo State affair, stressing the importance of grassroots inclusivity in strengthening the APC ahead of future political engagements.
He also hinted that full details of the deliberations would be published soon.
