Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu received the Amirah and executive members of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Lagos chapter, at Lagos House, Marina, to discuss the ongoing development of a community clinic in Elesan Village, Eti-Osa.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the women’s efforts, saying,
“I commend your effort in building a community clinic at Elesan Village. It is an important project that will serve people across the community, and we will support it. When a project is open to everyone, it aligns with our responsibility to improve access to healthcare for all.”
He further praised their dedication and sacrifice, adding,
“You have taken on a big responsibility, and you should be proud. As a government, we will stand with you to ensure the clinic is completed well and in good time.”
The governor also extended his prayers to the Muslim faithful preparing for Hajj, noting, “As we move forward from the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and begin preparations for Hajj, I pray for a smooth and peaceful journey for all intending pilgrims.”
FOMWAN Lagos chapter’s initiative reflects a growing collaboration between government and civil society in improving healthcare access for underserved communities in Lagos State.
