A truck conveying tomatoes lost control and crashed into several vehicles on Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday afternoon, January 8.
The incident, which occurred around noon, was reportedly caused by brake failure. Eyewitnesses said the truck veered off its lane and rammed into vehicles moving on the bridge, causing panic among motorists.
Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded in the accident. A family traveling in one of the affected vehicles narrowly escaped death.
An eyewitness who spoke at the scene said, “The truck suddenly lost control and swerved into other vehicles on the bridge. It was very scary, but thankfully no one died.”
Traffic was temporarily disrupted as emergency responders and road safety officials worked to clear the wreckage and restore normal flow of movement.
