Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, says the state remains firmly aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is committed to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Zulum made the statement on Monday while declaring open the APC Northeast e-registration workshop in Maiduguri, which brought together national and state party leaders as part of efforts to digitalise membership records across the region.
The governor assured full government backing for the exercise, saying Borno would support the participation of party members within and outside states controlled by the APC. “Let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind, Borno State is 100% for the APC. Our loyalty to the party and its leadership is absolute,” he said.
Highlighting what he described as the party’s role in restoring stability to the state, Zulum credited both former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Tinubu for sustained interventions in the fight against insurgency and rebuilding efforts. He pointed to the creation of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), federal support for resettlement programmes, and the emergence of Borno’s Kashim Shettima as Vice President as evidence of APC’s commitment.
Zulum urged residents to rally behind President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the administration’s leadership must be sustained to consolidate peace and development in the North-East.
